...sugar is sweet and so are you.

Photo: This is what she wanted to wear today. It has been fitting for her today. I can, now, say that with a smile. #everybitoftwo #sadieistwo #whatablessedness

One of these days, you'll be grown, my sweet little one and you'll do whatever you want to do because you can. I hear ya. At two and a half, you know that deep in your soul. I know most two year olds think they know it, but you really do. Believe me, I'm behind you 100%. The day will come, as "they've" (You know if you are the "they" and if you are the they, you should keep the wisdom to a minimum. I say that with all the love.) told me, where "all too quickly" you really can "Do it ME SELF!!!" And you will and it's going to be the most beautiful thing in the world to watch. I can't wait to see what the Lord has for you, precious.

You're a spit fire and I don't worry about you a bit. You will always be ok. You can take care of yourself and you're confident in that. I pray, as your mother, I never squash that. God rolled so much fun and so much goodness into one tiny little being. I'm still learning how to harness all that spunk. Bear with me, sweet girl.

I had a defining mommy moment today. I think it was somewhere between fit one and five or that phone call to Daddy...I lost track ;)

Thank you for being my daughter. My very own daughter. I know you didn't pick me, nor I you, but thanks for sticking by me through the good and the bad. It was truly a match made in heaven.

I love you forever and always no matter what,
Mommy

Pretty in Pink

Today I'm linking up to Savvy Southern Style's Wow Us Wednesday!

My daughter is two years old. The honey and I still call her "the baby" and think of her as the baby. She's two, so I guess she still kind of is :) But she's growing. Growing so fast. I wanted to capture her nursery before it changed.

I'm a sentimental person, so a lot of the decor in her room was mine or the honey's when we were babies. The big rocking chair has rocked my sister and I, my aunts two children, and all three of my babies. So many family members have rocked in that chair and loved and cuddled and shushed and sang off key. Being able to add that layer of special to her room was important to me.

Earlier this year, she and the boys switched rooms. The furniture set up just seemed to work better that way. This is what her nursery looked like when we first brought her home. I loved this room. It was so bright and happy and relaxing.

Oh how you've grown, my darling!

Day 2

day 2
the color pink.

I love the way my feet feel on this rug in my daughter's nursery. I found it at Target. It was right after I found out that we were having a girl and even though I hadn't picked out her bedding yet, I just couldn't pass up this loveliness. It really softens up her room. I just adore it.

She's now drawn to the color yellow, so we'll see how long I'll actually be able to keep it in her room. She's still in a crib, but I know the big girl room is just around the corner. You see, she'll be two very soon. I can hardly believe it!

I'm already getting ideas for her big girl room...I love the idea of doing big yellow and white checks on a euro pillow sham, with her monogram  on it, or big yellow and white checked curtains. Maybe I could do pink accents...

I'm crazy about this room from Bringing Up Three. The accessories and butterfly pillow aren't the route I want to go, but the bedding is so sweet, especially the fancy bedskirt. I think this look in a mustard yellow would be perfect! Oh the things to look forward to :)

Oh what to do...

My daughter is turning 2 at the end of March and I'm trying to decide how to celebrate the occassion. I've always done big parties for all of the kids, but for some reason, I just want to do something smaller for her this year. I actually think she'd be able to enjoy herself more if it were small. I want her to feel like she's shining and I don't want her to get lost in the party.

Her birthday just happens to fall on a Friday, which is perfect. The honey always takes off on everyone's birthdays, which I love :) And the entire day revolves around the birthday person and we do all of their favorite things, starting off with our family tradition of breakfast at the Silver Diner. I'm thinking about making reservations for our family at a tea room...We'll get dressed in our fancies and eat a girly lunch. I need to do my homework and look around for a special place...

I was also thinking of taking her to the Build a Bear workshop...I wish she was big enough to go into the American Girl store! I can't wait to have that experience with her! I still wonder what age would be best for that. She loves playing little mommy and she's always taking care of her baby dolls and us. It's so sweet.
